Gottman Method Couples Certification

Dr.’s John & Julie Gottman and the Gottman Institute believe that couple intervention must be grounded in basic research. They have been studying why some couples sustained their relationships while others did not for over 30 years.

Additional outside research has demonstrated that the Gottman approach has positively impacted marriages with problems. It has also shown that the method usually has an enduring effect, meaning that the relapse prevention tactics can work, and the skills learned can be retained and used in the future.
