With over 15 years of experience as a Special Education teacher, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful it is to feel seen and capable—especially during times of struggle or transition. I work collaboratively with teens and adults to help build insight, confidence, and practical tools so life’s challenges feel more manageable and less overwhelming.

With a background in high school special education, I bring particular care, patience, and understanding to working with youth, including those with learning differences or disabilities. While I enjoy supporting a wide range of clients, I’m especially attuned to those who feel overwhelmed, misunderstood, or unsure of their next steps.
APPROACH TO COUNSELLING
My approach to counselling is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and the belief that people grow best when they feel safe and understood. I meet you exactly where you are, taking time to understand your story, strengths, and goals before moving toward change. My work is relational and strengths-based, integrating elements of person-centered, cognitive-behavioural, solution-focused, and narrative therapies.
In sessions, I bring a calm, grounded, and compassionate presence. I value active listening, thoughtful pacing, and moments of reflection—using humour when it helps create ease and connection. Therapy with me is not about being “fixed,” but about working together to make sense of what’s been hard, highlight your strengths, and co-create strategies that feel realistic and meaningful. My hope is that over time you feel steadier, more confident, and more capable of navigating life as it unfolds.

A Bit More About Me
After more than 16 years as a Special Education teacher, becoming a counsellor felt like a natural extension of a professional life centered on connection, empathy, and advocacy. I value integrity, compassion, and the healing power of laughter, and I strive to bring those values into both my work and my life.
Outside the counselling room, I enjoy slowing down and noticing the small, meaningful moments that often get overlooked. Whether it’s watching a classic movie, spending time with good company, or walking my dog, I believe there is deep value in presence and simplicity—and that these moments matter just as much as the big milestones.
